- Item #: B009
- Manufacturer: Iron Mountain Armory
- Manufacturer's Product Number: B009
After many requests, the master craftsmen of the Iron Mountain Armory have designed the Takeda Clan Samurai Armor in the Bogyo style model (B009). This Samurai Armor incorporates all the elements of a Japanese made suit of armor of the period and would meet the expectations of Takeda Shingen himself. The mon of the Takeda Clan is hand-painted onto the chest (do) in gold. This samurai armor comes with the traditional Takeda Clan copper tiger mon on the "ears" of the kabuto.
History: The Takeda Clan ruled from the Kai Province for 400 years (12th to 16th century). They quickly rose and became one of the most powerful clans in Feudal Japan. Their clan motto was Loyalty and Fraternity, and they were known for their cavalry charge and for being known as the Red Army. The Takeda banner stated "fu rin ka zan" (wind, forest, fire, mountain) which stands for "swift as the wind, silent as the forest, intrusive as fire, and immovable as a mountain."
Details: The armor is wearable and comes standard sized for a man with a 106cm chest (+/- 3cm), standing at 5' 8" tall (+/- 3”) and is fully functional. Available in two different quality levels: Kachi and Gashira. Gashira Class yoroi includes a free customary black lacquered box (Yoroi Bitsu) which, along with an included wooden frame, provides the support for the display and instructions. Kachi Class yoroi does not include the Yoroi Bitsu and maybe purchased separately using the drop-down menu option.
