Basic Yoroi Hitatare
- Item #: KM
- Manufacturer: Iron Mountain Armory
- Manufacturer's Product Number: KM
The Yoroi hitatare are the traditional shirt and pants that were a popular outfit worn by Samurai between the 12th and 17th Century in Japan. The hitatare is basically a snugger version of the hakama and kimono making it more ideal to wear under armor. It was also made popular and used as a Ninja uniform. Although less traditional than the kimono, the hitatare was often worn in some official copacity and often adorned with a kataginu (sleeveless jacket with exaggerated shoulders).
We offer the basic hitatare with shitagi (gi-like top) in a short or long sleeve. If you will be wearing your shitagi with Samurai armor we recomend to order the short sleeve as it will fit inside the kote (armored sleeve) easier. If you plan to wear your Yoroi Hitatare as a ninja uniform or in a more "official" capacity, we would reccomend ordering it with the longer sleeves. The basic yoroi hitatare set fits a little more baggy then the custom fitted set we offer and is handmade by the Iron Mountain Armory.
Optional: Tasuki - a cord which tucks sleeves of Kimono or Yukata up and out of the way, to allow for a greater freedom of movement.
Please note: clothing set is in solid black (unless otherwise requested - see options). Please select your size and allow 30 days for shipping. Armor not included.
