This Kyoroku Armour is painstakingly handcrafted, finished with copper trim, copper fastening rings, and complimented with a momonari (peach-shaped) kabuto.  Kiritsuke iyozane yoroi was more common among wealthier and higher ranking samurai.  Although it resembles lamellar and scale armor the kiritsuke iyozane dô was handcrafted with long lames (strips or rows) of iron lashed together and riveted together.  This style of armor was more timely and costly to produce but offered an equal level of protection with better flexibility than the more common Okegawa ni-mai dô.  Although it was an earlier style of samurai armor it was so effective it was used throughout the Sengoku (Warring States) period and into the Edo period.

Designed by the Soke of the Muso Shugyo Ryu.  Muso Shugyo study the history, philosophy and fighting arts of the samurai from the following historic Japanese periods:

Sengoku-Jidai - Warring states period - 1392-1603 - (Mass armour battlefied conflicts)
Edo period - Tokugawa rule 1603-1867 - (Samurai at peace)
Meiji period 1846 -1912, (End of the Samurai era)
